22 February 2007 Leading practice management software company, See20/20
is launching a national 7-a-side football competition to raise much needed funds for Optometry Giving Sight and Vision Aid Overseas.

Brainchild of Sales and Marketing director Paul Houston, the See20/20 Optical Football Championship is open to any organisation in the UK optical industry which can muster a 7-a-side team. Heats will be played around the UK, culminating in a high profile final at a venue to be confirmed.

“We’re all working so hard these days that I thought it was high time we organised an event that was purely social with suppliers and opticians getting together to let their hair down, explains Paul. “No CET, no standing around on exhibition stands, just a great day out with friends and colleagues and if we can raise a decent amount for two very hard working charities in the process, so much the better.”

To date, more than 30 opticians and supplier companies have expressed interest in entering the competition, in some cases with multiple teams. As a non profit-making event, opportunities also exist for companies to sponsor elements of the competition including pitch fees, referees and refreshments, including holding their own corporate hospitality during the heats and final.
